Party Poker for MacOn Thursday the 3rd of October, online poker fans are in for a treat because Party Poker are unveiling a new software upgrade to their players. This is the first big poker software refresh the company has delivered since they merged their platform with Bwin in 2012. The company has referred to the new software as a “refreshed next generation online poker product” and they hope that it will provide poker players with a lot of additional features in addition to the new look of it.

The release will be available to Mac and PC users and if you are the sort of poker player that prefers to have a non-download version, you are in luck as there is a browser option being released as well. There is also going to be mobile options with an upgrade for Android and the launch of an all new iOS app.

Some of the features for the new software include having a 1 click option for the lobby and the new software looks set to make playing poker more of a social thing. There are plenty of ways in which causal players or sociable players can interact with their friends and this will come in the Missions, the Achievements and the Friends app.

The software should be easier to use

A 1 click lobby has become more popular in recent times on a number of poker rooms and it is sure to be a big factor in the new look software. The ease of getting to a seat with one click will appeal to most players and there will be a chance to customise your click which means you can be taken to the sort of seat that you want to play at. You can manage your upcoming tournament play in this section but you will also be able to retain the classic view if you are the sort of person that struggles with change.

We all like a mission or two in life and with Missions, the company claims they are “giving you targets to aim for, challenging you to try new things and improve your game.”  There are a variety of missions, one being managing your bankroll, and once a mission has been unlocked, players can track their progress. There is an option to pause your mission if something comes up and mission rewards include bonuses, tickets for tournaments and cash prizes.

The Achievements section is a great way for players to instantly see and display their success on software as these will be shown on a player’s profile page. The Friends section, as the name suggests, mimics certain social networking sites. This section will allow friends to connect with each other software while making new friends. The software will make suggestions as to people you may know or may wish to know. People who prefer a life of solitude at the poker table will be delighted to know that there is a privacy setting available.

With Party Poker aiming for a launch in New Jersey in late November, these are big times for the poker software and poker players around the world.
